How Charton uses essential, functional, and optional analytics cookies and similar technologies on the public website and platform.
1. Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how Charton LLC uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. Some technologies are required to operate the website and platform, while others are optional and are used only when you choose to allow them.
2. Essential Technologies
Essential technologies are used for authentication, security, fraud prevention, routing, session management, broker connections you request, and recording your privacy choice. They remain active because the requested service cannot operate reliably without them.
- Supabase authentication and OAuth cookies — account authentication and session security; session or provider-defined duration; first party.
- charton_cookie_consent — records your consent categories, policy version, date, and whether Global Privacy Control was honored; 180 days; first party cookie and local storage.
- Broker OAuth and session cookies, including cTrader and Tradovate connection state — used only when you request a broker connection; session or connection duration; first party.
3. Functional Technologies
With your permission, functional browser storage may remember interface settings such as theme, time zone, chart preferences, favorite symbols, dismissed notices, and model or chat preferences. Functional storage is disabled by default in the consent controls.
4. Analytics Technologies
Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve page structure, performance, and content. Analytics is optional, disabled by default, and does not run until you grant analytics consent.
- charton_ref — referral attribution; up to 90 days; first party cookie and local storage.
- charton_ref_session_id and charton_visit_tracked:* — referral session and duplicate-visit controls; browser session; session storage.
- Microsoft Clarity — optional interaction analytics and session diagnostics. Clarity may set first-party cookies such as _clck and _clsk, and Microsoft may use the third-party cookies listed in its cookie documentation.
When analytics consent is enabled, Charton may use Microsoft Clarity to collect website usage data such as page views, clicks, scrolling, device/browser information, approximate location, and interaction diagnostics. Charton does not use analytics cookies to provide investment advice or trading recommendations.
5. Managing Consent
You can accept all optional technologies, reject all, or save category-specific preferences. Optional categories are off by default. Use “Cookie Settings” in the footer or the persistent privacy control to change or withdraw your choice at any time. We ask again after 180 days or when this policy version changes.
We recognize supported Global Privacy Control signals. When detected, optional analytics and data sharing remain disabled and the interface confirms that the opt-out was honored. Charton does not sell personal information. The privacy control also acts as a request not to share personal information through optional analytics technologies.
6. Third-Party Services
Third-party providers may process cookie or analytics information under their own privacy terms. For example, Microsoft publishes details about the cookies and retention used by Clarity. For more information about how Charton handles personal information, review our Privacy Policy.
